In the village of Tan, Zhalagash district, another training seminar was held for representatives of crop farms of the Kazakh Rice Research Institute named after Y.Zhakaeva on the topic “Introduction of crops adapted to drought and salinization of soils, and methods for assessing soil fertility.” . Colleagues from the Karmakshi district were also invited to it, and scientists from the Rice Institute presented the advantages of growing sugar beet, its economic efficiency and the possibility of studying soil quality in order to increase its fertility.
It should be noted that in our region the yield of this crop of the sorghum family is good. Currently, more than ten farms have sown this crop in a designated place in their fields and are monitoring its effectiveness.
The training seminar was organized within the framework of the FAO-GEF project “Integrated management of natural resources in agricultural production in arid and saline regions of Central Asia and Turkey” and covers all districts of the Kyzylorda region.
